Welcome to Stevie Tri’s!!

I am a self-proclaimed Professional Amateur Triathlete.
I enjoy riding my Harley-Davidson Sportster, watching Anime (Current Favorite: My Dress-up Darling), Coffee (Black, no cream or sugar), Star Wars, Beer, and Scotch. Although when it comes to alcohol I am not too picky. I am also an avid pizza lover, you can probably convince me to do something (within reason) if pizza is promised.
I am also a 1st generation Mexican/Guatemalan American living in Southern California. I have a full-time job in Property Management, a very cute and senior dog that needs constant love and attention, and interests outside of swimming, cycling, and running.
The reason this entire project now exists. My “A Race” AKA my main goal/race is to complete the Ironman 70.3 in Salem, Oregon July 10th, 2022.
I consider myself more of a runner even though my track record only has 1 Full marathon(26.2 miles), 3 Half Marathons(13.1 miles), and one 5k (3.1) with 1 Sprint Triathlon with no end in sight!
The Panini or Pandemic as it is formally called is the primary reason I started to run. I only consistently started to run as of August of 2020. I set small goals at the beginning of my running journey such as completing a 10k race (6.2 Miles). There were no races being held at the time so I just ran the 10k by myself in my town and sure enough, I did it! I remember the feeling of victory and accomplishment that I felt after doing what I said I would do.
From there it was a snowball effect. I thought maybe I can do a half marathon, I am halfway there right? So, with consistent running, I did that Half Marathon alone in February of 2021. THEN I remember thinking to myself, no one in my family has ever done a marathon. I could be the first. I am already halfway to the distance. So, with more running, I started my training in April of 2021 to complete my first full Marathon.
So, as I promised myself I completed The Surf City Marathon on September 11th, 2021. I finished with a time of 4:04. It was surreal to finish the race and even though I got hurt after the marathon I kept running which is how I got the other Half marathons under my belt. I was just left with the feeling of “I can do anything”. Which probably led to thinking I can do the 2nd longest Triathlon distance even though I had never even done a triathlon. Let alone have not swum in years or even owned a bicycle. So, that’s me! Welcome to my life!
